Choir History
Our Beginnings
The Peter’s Children Choir (TPCC) is a renowned children’s choir founded in 2015 by Peter Buntaran Suharyo. Since its establishment, TPCC has grown into a respected choir known for its dedication to musical excellence, discipline, and the development of young singers.
Achievements
Over the years, TPCC has achieved significant success in the world of choral music, including winning the prestigious EGP three times. These achievements reflect the choir’s commitment to continuous improvement and its passion for bringing beautiful choral music to audiences.
The Choir Today
Today, TPCC has 40 active members, ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old. The choir provides young singers with an opportunity to develop their vocal abilities, musical understanding, confidence, teamwork, and appreciation for choral music.
As part of its continued growth, TPCC opens auditions every year for children who are interested in joining the choir. Through these auditions and its ongoing activities, TPCC continues to welcome new generations of young singers while building upon the foundation established by its founder in 2015.

Our Conductor
Peter Buntaran Suharyo
Peter Buntaran Suharyo, born in Jakarta, is a renowned composer, arranger, and conductor whose career has been dedicated to the development and advancement of choral and orchestral music. Through his artistic vision, musical leadership, and commitment to excellence, he has established himself as an influential figure in the world of music.
Education & Training
Peter pursued his musical education at The Juilliard School, one of the world’s most prestigious institutions for performing arts, where he graduated with honors. During his musical journey, he studied composition and arrangement with distinguished musicians and conductors, including Avip Priatna, Henry Sutjipto, and Sir Simon Rattle. These experiences helped shape his musical language, artistic approach, and conducting style.
Conductor, Composer & Arranger
As a conductor, Peter has earned recognition for his ability to bring together musical precision, expressive interpretation, and strong ensemble leadership. His work has led him to be regarded as one of the best living conductors in Asia, reflecting his significant contribution to the region’s musical landscape.
In addition to his career as a conductor, Peter is an accomplished composer and arranger. His work demonstrates a deep understanding of musical structure and an appreciation for both traditional and contemporary approaches to music. His passion for nurturing young musicians is also evident through his work with The Peter’s Children Choir (TPCC), which he founded in 2015.
A Musical Family
Peter is married to renowned soprano Jovita Nathania. Together, they are part of a musical family whose dedication to the arts continues to inspire singers and musicians.
Through his work as a composer, arranger, conductor, educator, and mentor, Peter Buntaran Suharyo continues to make a lasting contribution to the musical community and to inspire the next generation of performers.
